It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Sandra Brancatelli to the position of dean of the School of Advanced Technology (SAT), effective May 13, 2024.

Since her first role in 2013 as a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, Sandra has taken on an impressive lineup of positions throughout Algonquin College. In 2018 she was appointed chair of Information & Communications Technology. A position that she has held with extraordinary dedication while ensuring the level of expertise of graduating students aligns with the needs of relative industries in Ottawa. 

Sandra has actively participated in College policy, operations and strategy discussions on many committees. In addition, she has initiated curriculum development, as well as worked in partnership with others to improve effectiveness, communication and collaboration throughout the College.

With real world experience in the high-tech industry in Ottawa, coupled with her initiative and commitment to the students and her fellow colleagues Sandra has pushed Algonquin College forward into brilliant new spaces by engaging with industry partners across the Ottawa region.

Sandra holds a B. B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill and a M.Eng. in Engineering Management from the University of Ottawa. She is also a licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario.
